The initial school location is where Tengecha Girls Secondary school currently is. The school was moved to its current location by the Board of Governors – Tengecha schools in the year 2002 to help restore sanity in Tengecha High school which was a mixed school then. In the same year 1995, headteachers were appointed for the primary school and Mr. Wilson K. Koech was the first headteacher followed by Mr. Joseph K. Ngeno and then later Mr. Adeka S. Tadayo who serves to date.

Pre- school begun in 1991 which made the school a complete one from pre school all the way to standard 8. Admission was competitive at entry stages of PP1 and standard 6.

Currently the school has an enrollment of 74 pre school learners, 448 lower primary learners and 163 junior school learners.  There are 3 pre school teachers, 11 lower primary school teachers and 8 junior school teachers. The school has 16 support/ essential staff members.

Early grade learners and Grade 1-4 are day scholars, grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 are all Boarders.

Our institution is one of the best performing public schools in National examinations. It is among the top ten in the county of Kericho. We take part fully in co-curricular activities as provided for in the curriculum.

Tengecha Boys offers learning facilities to all learners from all parts of the country and sits on 6.25 acres of land. We have 17 classrooms that have permanent structures. The dormitories are also permanent and tiled.

Our school has an active journalism club “dreamer’s Television on YouTube; all school activities and functions can also be accessed in the official YouTube channel.

We are fully registered with the relevant authorities and the current BOM chairperson is Mr. Paul Mabwai.
